Fabulous family Sunday

Day 198. Sunday. A fabulous sunny day at last with clear blue sky and bright sunshine. We all sat down for breakfast together and then started to put the washing out. I say this because no washing had been done all week because we wouldn’t be able to get it dry so today it was line after line. It was drying in no time at all.

We sat and enjoyed coffee in the garden and then we all headed out to a street food market for lunch. At first we went to the wrong place and passing ToysRus on the way. We must have gone round the block because we passed it again in a different direction. Third time we found what we were looking for. It wasn’t a very nice venue but had it of rained we would have found shelter to eat our food.

There were lots of up market food vans and we each chose something different. They had a great idea with potatoes cut into a continuous circle. Nothing lasts long now with these three growing girls. We got back in time for Indigo and Cherry to have a rest and play in the garden before they were off to a party. We then sunbathed for a while, it was really hot before Chris and Helyn got on with planting their seed potatoes and flower seeds. Chris also had to erect an easy fence round all the raised flower beds to keep George off the garden. Carol helped Flora to tidy the playhouse and I folded the washing.

In the evening after the children where in bed we had some supper and some wine and eventually I was reminiscing with stories of my Mum and Dad. One I could hardly tell for laughing.

It was a few days before my mother died and she made a great effort to come downstairs to see Susan and her daughter from the Isle of Man. They had flown over just for the day to see Mum but Alison had also brought her fiancé with her and she very much wanted Mum to meet him. As they were about to leave for their flight back Mum beckoned Steve over and tried to raise her walking stick and wave it at him. I bent down to try to hear what she was trying to say and then as now I could hardly say it for laughing. “Treat her right or I will come and haunt you”.
