Happy and Footloose and Fancy Free

Day 215. Wednesday.  Today, finally I absolutely have my mojo back and am back in my own skin once again. Happy and Footloose and Fancy Free. I struggled back from dancing last night. It is fair to say that I was hobbling and I was rather uncomfortable getting into bed. I woke at 5.45am and felt a bit odd and I managed to go back to sleep until 8.15am. I had a terrible headache and felt very unwell. I wondered if it was because it was so warm last night and I didn’t have the windows open or if it was the change in pressure because jugo was blowing. Anyway I struggled out of bed as I was meeting Bella at 10.00am. I received a message from Eliza saying that she was back and was joining us and could she call at 9.30am. I didn’t feel well and was very slug like but now had to get my skates on.

It was nice to have Eliza back, I am increasingly enjoying her sarcastic sense of humour. As we get to know each other better and she grows more comfortable she is getting funnier which I think is also bringing my own humour back. Are the Croatians ready for Liverpuddlian humour? Am I ready for it? You bet your life I AM.  We walked along the Riva in glorious sunshine, it feels as if it is med summer?  Today I am dressed for summer. Bella was dressed like a tourist, what a colourful impact she was making; I won’t even try to describe her but she is young and has no  shame, ha ha. The three of us strolled companionably across to Bačvice beach and I introduced them to the path to the beach via the railway.

As we made our way slowly from one beach to the next we made our way round the coast to beyond the boatyards. Some of the views were amazing and plenty of people were in the water, mostly locals playing their national water ball game, Picigin. We stopped off for coffee and cake though Bella and I went for lemonade and Eliza didn’t take cake! This means fresh lemons squeezed and water added, sugar to taste on the side. Perfect pick me up. We relaxed in the shade before heading back to Bačvice. Eventually we chose a spot to settle and Bella was first into the water. I had to gather myself first before I also managed it. My first swim of the season. It was cold but glorious. It didn’t take much to warm up when we were out and we sat and chatted some more.

Bella had to go eventually and Eliza and I decided that perhaps we ought to as well, though goodness knows why? We strolled back into town and left each other but we also decided that we would do it again on Monday morning and Bella is going to teach us how to play picigin. Doesn’t she know that I have a very bad leg?  I wanted some fresh vegetables from the market so I left the girls there. “Tourist prices?”, I said, “What?” Immediately she knocked a kuna or so off. I will have to make note of the prices now. However the cauliflower was so sweet and the broad beans, ‘bob’ were sweet and tasty, worth every penny.

In the afternoon I received a message on messenger from a young Buddhist monk in India. We had chatted last year but I have forgotten how? Anyway we chatted for a while with me straining to understand all that he said because of his Indian accent but he is obviously well-educated.  At the end of the conversation he asked me if I would like to take a look at the Buddhas in the Temple and I said, “Why not” forgetting that my hair was still tied back from the swim and hadn’t got round to taking a shower. The next thing I knew there was the Skype video but I could see myself! I nearly died seeing what a mess I was.

Oh well, nothing I could do about it and suddenly the camera reversed and there were the Buddhas in the Temple and the energy was lovely and filled me right up. Then for a brief moment I saw the man that I had been talking to. He was a young man of 28 years, very good looking, very clean and tidy and smart in a casual way. His picture in messenger is in his orange gown. I think I expected that? Afterwards I was aware that I felt very energised and got on with a few jobs. I think I had received a hug from Buddha?

I finally managed to force myself to the computer once again and had just got started when Paul Dadswell called me on Skype. As usual he was driving home late from school and thought that he would give me a ring and see how I was doing. We chatted the entire journey but just with sound and not visual. Again it was good to have a chat on loads of different levels. I can see that my friends are all evolving massively spiritually and with wisdom despite their problems and setbacks. All of us are being challenged emotionally, getting to the dross but succeeding. The downs are horrible but the ups feel better and better.

While I was talking and I had sat down on my bed I thought I heard something and wondered if one of the visitors upstairs had stepped in. Then I heard and saw next door’s cat and chased him out. I definitely don’t want to encourage him, especially when he will pooh in my pots on the terrace given the chance.  I must look up the meaning, qualities  and guidance of cat energy. My spirit animal (higher self)  is/was (if it hasn’t evolved) the black panther. My lower self animal is the dog. These animals walk either side of me. Perhaps I shouldn’t have  chased him away but he really does have an attitude this cat. He isn’t scared of anything and he doesn’t care a ….! Great role model ya think!
